The Slowest Hour
1 min read
There is a version of the morning that most of us never meet. It happens before the notifications, before the list, in the narrow hour when the house is still and the light is thin. We tend to rush straight through it.
We would like to make a small case for slowing down. Not for productivity, and not for wellness, but simply because the first pour of the day is one of the few rituals you repeat every single morning, and repetition is where care either lives or quietly disappears.
Reach for the cup you have been saving. Warm it first. Let the tea steep a beat longer than feels efficient. The hour is slow because you decided it would be, and that decision, made once, tends to shape the rest of the day.
